Colour clash in All-Ireland final

DOWN’S meeting with Cork in next month’s All-Ireland SFC decider means at least one team will have to change jerseys due to a colour clash.

It will be the first time since the 1982 final between Offaly and Kerry that teams meeting in the final will be forced to wear alternative strips.

When Down and Cork clashed in the 1994 All-Ireland semi-final, Cork wore a white strip while Down players wore gold jerseys.

But when the counties met in last year’s All-Ireland U-21 decider Cork wore their traditional red strip with Down forced to change.
