Canty set to miss Mayo showdown

CORK captain Graham Canty is set to miss next Sunday’s NFL Division 1 final against Mayo as he continues to be hampered by a shoulder injury picked up in last Sunday week’s clash between the counties in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Canty missed Carbery’s Cork SFC tie against Seandun on Sunday and has endured a frustrating spring with hamstring problems.

Manager Conor Counihan will also have to plan without Pearse O’Neill who is still a couple of weeks away from recovering from a broken thumb sustained in training last month, while John Miskella remains a long-term absentee with a groin injury. Anthony Lynch has made progress in shaking off a groin injury but a lack of game time is expected to count against him.
