KERRY hurling manager John Meyler doesn’t see the gap between Kilkenny and the other top counties narrowing and points out that the Cats are gearing everything towards the historic five-in-a-row bid.

Meyler faced Kilkenny six times as Wexford hurling manager and is well placed to comment on the Cats.

“I don’t think the gap is narrowing, but Kilkenny are getting a year older. You can see their focus is on five in a row, not the league. They’ll only get one shot at five in a row, like Kerry did, and if I know Cody, he’ll study why Kerry didn’t succeed and learn from that.
