We deserve shot at big prize, insists Carlow chief

LONG-serving Carlow secretary Tom O’Neill insists the county have earned the right to play in the Liam MacCarthy Cup next year.

O’Neill pointed to their Christy Ring Cup success over the past two years, along with impressive displays at minor and U21 level.

“We’d like the opportunity to move up to the Liam MacCarthy and the Leinster championship. It’s a big challenge. You could say we’re moving up two steps of the ladder, but we think our players deserve that opportunity.’’
