Counihan dismisses claims Cork peaked against Tyrone

CORK manager Conor Counihan yesterday dismissed suggestions his side had peaked against Tyrone in the All-Ireland semi-final, citing last year’s decider to support his argument.

“Last year Kerry were in the All-Ireland final against Tyrone – did they peak for that game? They had a goal chance, it was stopped, and the ball went up for a goal at the other end.

“We had it down to a point Sunday and had a couple of goal chances – if those had gone in everyone would be telling us that we played it right and they played it wrong. I don’t buy into the ‘peaking’.
