Brennan blast for those stifling establishment of new clubs

Firing a broadside at clubs hogging urban population increases, Mr Brennan said: “We know there are clubs in urban areas that as sure as hell don’t want any new clubs developing on their doorstep.” In stressing the need for county committees to face up to their responsibilities in this regard, he said that it would be ‘a poor county’ which didn’t look at its larger areas of population and see if ‘appropriate clubs and facilities’ were in place.

The plan aims to increase the numbers of players and volunteers active in clubs and schools in urban areas by 20% over the period of the plan.
