A lot to learn from O’Mahony furore

ONE would have hoped that the Aidan O’Mahony case would have been done and dusted and marked “player innocent” at this stage.

A lot to learn from O’Mahony furore

For O’Mahony’s sake and that of his family, the sooner it happens the better. Having said that, the media coverage and the comments from almost everyone I spoke to about the failed test were hugely sympathetic.

Most understand that O’Mahony is asthmatic since childhood, that his condition had been notified to the authorities and that, because he had flu symptoms the week before the All-Ireland, he may have taken an additional puff or two from his inhaler to put him over the limit of Salbutamol use. If it’s as simple as that, then there has been a lot of words about little. It’s only natural for the human being to fortify themselves when engaging on any journey. If you are going on holidays, the tendency is to bring too much rather than too little luggage.
