Angry Fans
RTÉ are criticised for failing to show the '25 Year' heroes of Dublin getting their recognition but there's anger, too, at the excessive media coverage devoted generally to the Dubs. Fans cite the Railway Cup and the International Rules series as examples of competitions where the GAA has lost the plot. And the debate goes on about how to bring Cork back as a hurling power and how to reform the championship format.
NO EXCUSES, no complaints. We were beaten by a better team on the day. We will go home, review, regroup and return again next year. We're already favourites for next year's championship. Why? Because it's Kerry and that's what we do! A legacy of great footballers, style and passion built on tradition and pride. To be in Jury's last Sunday and watch past 'greats' like Jack O'Shea and Seamus Moynihan patiently posing for endless photos with Tyrone supporters was an experience in itself and a reminder that we are so fortunate in Kerry to have had many such heroes and great memories over the years. This is a great Kerry football team. They may be a little jaded, but are worthy of a position among the best of all time. A four points defeat to a hungry, fit and classy side hurts but we lost nothing. We still have our dignity, style, quality and above all an unswerving belief in our ability to compete at the top level year after year. Well done Tyrone. Mind Sam for a year. He's only on loan!!
