KILKENNY came onto the field two or three minutes before Waterford and went straight into their warm-up without any fuss.

Before Waterford hit the field each Kilkenny player must have touched the ball 30 to 40 times. Looking down at them, I was struck by their calmness and control — every player looked very assured and their first touch and eye looked definitely in.
