Monaghan’s turn has come, says McEneaney

BACK in 1985, Eamonn McEneaney established a scoring record for Monaghan with 3-16 over the course of a campaign which was highlighted by two games against Kerry in the All-Ireland semi-final.

Monaghan’s turn has come, says McEneaney

That record still stands and so does the wait for a first championship win over the Kingdom. Better known in recent times as Louth manager, McEneaney will travel to Croke Park on Sunday with high hopes Monaghan’s luck could change.

“Like everything else, some day it’s going to happen. I thought last year with seven or eight minutes to go that it was going to be the case and I would be very hopeful Monaghan will go close to doing it this year,” he said.
