GAA fixtures nightmare
And provincial bosses admit that the games may not be played before Christmas as weather conditions continue to worsen.
The IHC Final between Bishopstown (Cork) and Clooney-Quin (Clare); the JHC Final featuring Killworth (Cork) and Knockshegowna (Tipperary) and the IFC semi-final pairing of Mullinahone (Tipperary) and Ardfert (Kerry) all fell victim to the weather yesterday. Saturday’s Munster JFC semi-final between Portroe (Tipperary) and Adrigole (Cork) was also postponed due to a bereavement. That game is rearranged for Sunday in Toomevara, 2pm.
Munster Council officials will meet later tonight to decide their course of action. A spokesman said that no decision was taken yesterday with regards when that day’s postponed fixtures will be played. He said: “All options have to be looked at, and that means considering the long-range weather forecasts and the like.”
