GAA bosses silent on Corcoran’s criticism

CORK GAA chiefs would not be drawn last night on Brian Corcoran’s recent criticisms of the county board.

In his newly published autobiography, Corcoran tells of being presented with an €11.55 bill for room service by an officer of the county board the morning after the All-Ireland loss to Kilkenny. While publicising the book Corcoran then referred to the county board’s treatment of selectors Ger Cunningham and Patsy Morrissey as an “insult” and a “disgrace”. Though both expressed an interest in taking over from John Allen as Cork manager, neither were contacted by the county board to discuss the vacancy.

Last night a spokesperson for the county board said they would not be commenting on the matter.
