‘Gutted’ Prendergast says loss was cruel and disheartening
Another foot or so and the ball would have gone over the bar. They would have drawn the All-Ireland semi-final and all their hopes and aspirations would be still alive. Instead, they went home as losers.
Seamus Prendergast considered it his worst experience with the Waterford team. “I’m just gutted. If I had a word stronger than it to describe it I’d use it,’’ said the Ardmore man. “We thought this was going to be our year. We had everything going for us and the momentum was with us. To be beaten by a point in an All-Ireland semi-final is very disheartening.” he said.
