Canty and Barron fire red-hot Blues

A magnificent display of football by Graham Canty at midfield and an equally impressive display of point scoring by Declan Barron combined to give Bantry Blues an emphatic victory over their own divisional side Carbery in a lively Evening Echo SFC tie at Clonakilty last night.
Canty and Barron fire red-hot Blues

Bantry were improved out of all proportion on their first round defeat at the hands of Carbery Rangers and will prove a tough match for their opponents in next month’s quarter-final. Their pace and football know how was a delight to watch, and while Canty and Barron were their main men, full back Kevin Harrington, corner back Kenneth Deane and captain Damien O’Neill were major factors in their impressive win.

Sadly for them, they lost Philip Clifford with a back injury and he had to be stretchered off. It was a pity for Clifford as he opened the scoring with a great point and was shaping up to have a good match.
