Casement Park qualifier against Antrim to cost Clare County Board €20,000

CLARE County Board are to spend over €20,000 to fulfil Saturday’s All-Ireland SFC qualifier against Antrim at Casement Park.

Banner bosses sought the postponement of the game by 24 hours due to players’ work commitments and the distance involved, but Antrim refused to budge as they have a full club programme on Sunday. Clare County Board chairman Mike McDonagh said: “Our intention is to charter a plane to fly to Belfast on Saturday.

“While the cost is in excess of €20,000, the Clare Football Supporters Club and the county board will bear the cost.
