Winded Whelan ready to rumble

CIARAN WHELAN has declared himself fit and ready for Dublin’s All-Ireland quarter-final replay with Tyrone on Saturday week.

The Raheny midfielder came down heavily on the Croke Park surface in the drawn game when attempting to field a catch.

Though the knock seemed to affect his play somewhat in the second half, Whelan was unambiguous yesterday when asked about his state of readiness for the 27th.
