‘Clare scared the daylights out of us’

CORK captain Seán Óg Ó hAilpín admitted that Clare “scared the living daylights” out of his side in yesterday’s thrilling semi-final.

The champions struggled for a long period and trailed 0-13 to 0-7 with 21 minutes remaining. But inspired sideline switches ignited Cork’s fightback and ultimate victory.

Ó hAilpín, though, was never in any doubt of the danger Clare posed.
