Lachtin’s power to junior glory

St Lachtin’s, Freshford 2-19 St James, Ardfield, Cork 3-8

Kieran O’Donovan scored Ardfield’s first goal in the 10th minute to cancel points by Lachtin’s Noel Maher and Jonathan Doheny. The Cork side increased the lead with a Neil Evans point and at the end of the first quarter the sides were level, 0-5 to 1-2.

Freshford had the better of the exchanges in the second quarter. Noel McGree lashed home a goal but O’Donovan was again to Ardfield’s rescue with his second goal. On the stroke of half time he fired to the Freshford net to leave his side leading 3-4 to 1-9 ahead at half-time.
