Limerick to host young stars

GAA PRESIDENT Sean Kelly and Ladies Football President Geraldine Giles have joined forces to launch Feile Peil na nOg, which takes place in Limerick (July 1-3).

The annual U14 club football festival, sponsored by Coca-Cola involves 96 boys teams and 48 girls teams, with almost 4,000 youngsters taking part.

Half the teams will be from Limerick, along with county champions from throughout Ireland and teams from New York, Brussels, Scotland and England.

“The standards in the past, have continuously reached new heights and I’ve no doubt that this year will be no exception. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the youth of our Association to showcase their talents,” said Mr Kelly.

National Feile Chairman, Donal Fitzgibbon said, “This is another opportunity to raise the profile of football in the county even further, as well as promoting Limerick as a place.”
