No security fencing for Croker

THE GAA has no plans to erect security fencing around the pitch at Croke Park following the attack on Kerry coach Páidi Ó Sé by a spectator in the latter stages of the All-Ireland SFC semi-final loss to Tyrone.

The unidentified man, came onto the field and appeared to strike the Kingdom boss before officials and stewards moved quickly to remove the intruder from the sideline.

A spokesperson at GAA headquarters said such incidents were rare and regrettable but added there are no plans to construct any form of barrier between the pitch and the stand.
