SPORTS Minister John O’Donoghue yesterday announced details of a major conference on ladies football.

The one-day conference, Unlocking the Potential of Ladies Gaelic Football, is taking place in The Helix, DCU, Dublin on February 25 and will culminate in the inaugural Grass Roots Recognition Awards.

The conference will focus on topics such as promoting women’s participation in sport, understanding the female athlete, training ideas and preventing the onset of needless sports injuries.
