Cork’s second side made it a double victory with a well-deserved 3-14 to 0-4 victory over Dublin in the Division Two curtain raiser. This game was never in any doubt, with Cork 1-1 up after less than two minutes.

Division two Cork players Mary Coleman and Edwina Waters also played for St Mary’s Charleville on Saturday as they defeated St Pats Maghera in the Colleges All-Ireland semi-final.

Clare had a 1-11 to 0-4 victory over Derry in Athleague, Roscommon. The 2004 National League Division Two finalists Laois had a comfortable 5-4 to 1-2 win over Carlow, while the only other Division Two game took place in Ballyhollnad, Newry, where the 2004 All-Ireland junior finalists Down taught Armagh a lesson, winning 3-10 to 0-5.

Catherine McGourty was Down’s top scorer with 1-6, while Collette McSorley was the Orchard county’s only scorer.
