Lohan rues missed opportunity as heroic Clare join also-rans

BRIAN LOHAN tried hard to look on the bright side. However, there wasn’t much to be cheerful about.

There was a feeling of pride, understandably, after a performance which enabled Clare to give the All-Ireland champions the fright of their lives. Pride, too, in answering the team's 'knockers.' But really it was all about regrets, primarily about missing out on another All-Ireland final.

And, there was the small (but not insignificant) matter of losing a ball to Cork's replacement full-forward Neil Ronan which was costly to him and the team at the time.
