O’Connor happy to get game he wanted

JACK O’CONNOR got exactly the game he wanted in the Gaelic Grounds yesterday.

The Kerry manager wished for a “battling performance” from Limerick to really test his team - and Liam Kearns’s side certainly delivered.

“There’s always a big question mark hanging over teams who won All-Irelands - whether they can come back with the same hunger the next year. Having said that, the fact that we got a battle today, that we kept our heads and fought our way through was good. But, we’ll have to up that performance if we’re to handle Cork.
