O'Riordan called up by Limerick

THERE is one change on the Limerick team for Sunday's Allianz National Hurling League quarter-final against Waterford in Thurles.

Mark O'Riordan replaces Steven Lucey in the half-back line while, in a positional switch, with Donie Ryan moves from midfield to centre-forward.

Meanwhile, Mayo are awaiting medical reports on Ciaran McDonald and Ronan McGarrity before finalising their team to play Galway in the Allianz NFL semi-final at Castlebar on Sunday.

McDonald is doubtful because of a hand injury, while McGarrity picked up a hamstring injury during last Sunday's thrilling draw with All-Ireland champions Tyrone which ensured the Westerners progression to the knockout stages.

Galway expect to be at full strength even though midfielder Niall Coleman is still recovering from a shoulder injury sustained in the Connacht U21 semi-final against Sligo.

Limerick make two changes from the side that edged out Leitrim for Sunday's NFL Division Two semi-final against Louth at Newbridge.

Pat Ahern and Eoin Keating, both introduced as substitutes last Sunday, retain their places at the expense of Darren Horan and Micheal Reidy.

Keating scored a point in the two point win after being brought on at half-time, while Ahern was introduced after 59 minutes and will play at right half forward with Keating top of the left.

Louth, who are due to announce their team tonight, have one injury doubt, defender Simon Gerrard.

The Donegal team to face Westmeath in Sunday's NFL semi-final will not be named until Saturday.

Centre-forward Ciarán Bonner will miss the game as a result of an ankle injury which ruled him out of last Sunday's round victory over Roscommon. Initial reports that Bonner might have sustained a fractured ankle are wide of the mark. Nonetheless, Brian McIver is anxious that the Glenswilly player be afforded every opportunity to make a full recovery.

There are also major doubts about Rory Kavanagh, who sustained a calf injury against Longford a week ago. The St. Eunan's player has also been feeling the effects of flu this week and didn't feature against Roscommon on Sunday last.

Meanwhile, Four Masters' Barry Monaghan was forced to withdraw from Saturday evening's club match against Ardara with a shoulder injury. He took only a small part in training last night and is rated as doubtful. Colm McFadden is also suffering the effects of injury.

There was better news of Gaoth Dobhair's Neil McGee, who returned to take a full part in training having shaken off a knock to his ankle . Goalkeeper, Paul Durcan who has missed the last three matches with a foot injury did some light training while James Gallagher is fully fit again after a bruised hand meant he didn't feature in Dr Hyde Park.

Injury-free Westmeath are due to announce their team tonight.
