Canavan injury worry for Ulster final replay

PETER CANAVAN may miss Saturday week’s Ulster final replay after coming off injured at half-time in yesterday’s drawn Ulster final.

“Peter had a rib and shoulder injury coming into the game and he thought he would be able to play on with it,” said manager Mickey Harte. “By half-time he knew he couldn’t. It’s a race against time now for the replay. It’s in the hands of the gods.”

The ailment would certainly explain Canavan’s strangely off-key performance where he kicked three eminently scoreable shots wide.
