Kenny puts O’Grady’s preaching into practice

AN outstanding minor and Under 21, Tom Kenny came of age as a Cork senior star at Croke Park yesterday with a superb midfield display as Cork crushed the tissue-like challenge of Wexford.

Kenny scored a goal in the first half fit to grace a final, but it was something he had been encouraged to do in training by team coach Donal O’Grady.

“Once I began to run the Wexford defence opened up in front of me,” said the Grenagh man “and remembering what Donal had been saying to me in training to take the chance if it presents itself, I kept going.
