Time to give students a break

UCD’S progress in the Leinster club hurling championship has reawakened the debate on university participation in club championships.

Time to give students a break

As in, “why should universities be allowed to participate in county championships when they’re picking from thousands of students?”

Sloppy, sloppy thinking. First principles: if a university is registered as a club within a county then it is entitled to enter that county championship. Here endeth the lesson. Leave the would-be moralising and moaning about population at the door, because there’s no room to manoeuvre after that.
