The All-Ireland champions suffered a barrage of criticism in the wake of that Semple Stadium defeat. And, if the subsequent win against Tipp in Killarney was where their All-Ireland bid took root, the qualifiers isn’t a path Cork want to revisit.

“Thank God we went on to win the All-Ireland through the back door last year, but that Munster final defeat is something that is in fellas’ minds,” said captain Ben O’Connor yesterday.
