After suggesting that the supporters’ complacency in the build-up to the Mayo match didn’t help the champions, Culloty expressed confidence they will be much more ‘fired-up’ against their greatest rivals.`

“The biggest problem for us before the quarter-final was the attitude of supporters,’’ he said. “I met fellows who were saying you’d send up a club team and they’d beat Mayo. Players were listening to that kind of talk. You’d say that’s only a cod, but at the same time it can get through to players. It’s not easy to concentrate fully and take a team seriously!’’
