Cody looks forward to restructured league format

KILKENNY manager Brian Cody has welcomed the NHL’s new format, the fixtures for which were released yesterday by the GAA.

On the recommendation of the Hurling Development Committee, there will be no second series of group games as in 2004 and 2005.

Instead, the top four Division One teams from two groups of six will advance to play four quarter-finals. The same system will apply for Divisions Two and Three of the NHL.
