UFC boss expects Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz to get ‘massive fines or suspensions’

Dana White has admitted that Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz could face punishment following their behaviour at the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference in Las Vegas.

The UFC president claimed that both fighters could face a lawsuit and a potential suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission after the pair began throwing water bottles at each other.

On Saturday Irishman McGregor faces Diaz in a rematch from UFC 196 in March, when the American won via a second-round rear-naked choke.

And at their pre-fight press conference, Diaz was making his way out of the building when he threw a water bottle in McGregor's direction before the Irishman retaliated and tossed a number of water bottles back at the American's camp.

Tensions were already boiling over when McGregor arrived late to the press conference and both competitors were engaged in a heated verbal exchange, and White revealed that in midst of the chaotic scenes someone suffered an injury.

"The word is in this thing somebody was injured so there's going to be a lawsuit," White told TMZ. "Who knows how it's all going to play out? Somebody's filing a lawsuit. The wheels are already in motion on it.

"They're both getting punished. What everybody's got to understand is we're overseen by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. I guarantee both of these guys are going to get massive fines and there's probably going to be a hearing after the fight.

"There could be suspensions, community service, it's going to be ugly."
