Men charged in connection with attempted Longford burglary

Two men have been charged in relation to an attempted burglary at a business premises in Co Longford yesterday.

The men, aged 33 and 34, will appear before a special sitting of Longford District Court this evening.

A third man, a 29-year-old, has been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

During the incident, the owner of the business grabbed a gun and shot at three men as they tried to break into his property at Kilmoyle.

One of the intruders was wounded but his injuries were not life-threatening.
