Nevin suffers one-point loss in World semis

John Joe Nevin has missed out on a silver medal at the World Boxing Championships in Milan.

The Mullingar native rising star suffered a heartbreaking 5-4 loss to Russian Eduard Abzalimov in the semi-finals of the 54kg division.

The result means that Cavan-based Nevin, who represented Ireland at last summer's Olympics, will have to settle for a bronze medal.
