McAleese congratulates Loughnane on Berlin silver

President Mary McAleese has sent her congratulations to Olive Loughnane after the Loughrea woman's silver-medal performance at the World Championships in Berlin.

The 33-year-old finished second in the 20km walk behind reigning World and Olympic champion Olga Kaniskina.

Her medal is just the fifth won by an Irish athlete at the World Championships.
