Bolt aiming high

Usain Bolt is adamant he does not plan to rest on his laurels after a hugely-successful 2008 saw him claim three gold medals at the Olympic Games.

Bolt sensationally broke both the world 100m and 200m world records before anchoring Jamaica to the 4x100m relay title in Beijing.

The 22-year-old, who clocked times of 9.69seconds and 19.30secs, insists he is hungry for more success.

ā€œI feel good,ā€ said Bolt, who tomorrow will attempt to run the world’s fastest-ever 150 metres at the Bupa Great City Games in Manchester.

ā€œI plan a steady build-up during the summer where my target will be winning at the World Championships in Berlin.ā€

A fortnight ago his first appearance of the year in Europe looked in jeopardy after having minor surgery to remove thorns from his feet when his BMW overturned on a wet highway outside Kingston, Jamaica.

Bolt said of the incident: ā€œI was just frightened. I was not thinking about my career and then when it calmed down I started thinking about what could have happened and everything else.ā€
