Drogheda man Jimmy Gradwell has been appointed as new president of the Paralympic Council of Ireland, it was announced today.

Mr Gradwell is a director of the Paralympic Council of Ireland since its foundation in 1987 and has been involved in Irish sport for over 30 years. A previous medallist at the World Bowls Championship, Australia in 1990, Mr Gradwell was selected to participate in the 1988 Seoul Paralympic Games.
