Gillick’s appeal fails

David Gillick’s appeal over an incident in today’s 400m semi-final at the European Indoor Championships in Turin has failed.

Gillick appeared to tangle with Romanian Ioan Vieru on the final bend and he subsequently fell, ending his hopes of retaining his 400m European Indoor title.
