Armed raider in bank hold-up
Detectives were tonight hunting an armed raider who held up a bank with a gun and escaped with a sum of cash.
Gardaà in Dún Laoghaire, south Dublin, are investigating the robbery at a branch on the town’s Georges Street.
Armed with a handgun, the man entered the bank just before 11am and threatened staff before fleeing with money.
A Garda spokeswoman said no shots were fired during the robbery and nobody was injured.
The raider wore a white jacket and a hat and neck warmer which covered his face.
Forensic officers have remained at the scene throughout the day and gardaà are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
