Kerr out of luck
Robbie Kerr suffered more bad luck to hamper his title challenge in qualifying for round six of the A1GP season in Sydney.
The Great Britain team is without race engineer James Goodfield this weekend after he broke his leg in a pit-lane accident on Friday evening.
Then a crash by the Lebanese team in the opening qualifying session ruined Kerr’s lap, though he did recover to qualify eighth and third for Sunday’s Sprint and Feature race respectively.
Goodfield was hit by a high-pressure tyre gun hose from the Portuguese garage as they were practising their pit stops on Friday evening.
He spent Friday night in hospital and was set to be released on Saturday, data engineer Albert Lau taking responsibility in his absence.
Kerr qualified half a second off the pace in Sprint qualifying, Loic Duval making pole position in possibly his last race for France.
