Pair set record as England's cricketers motor in Ashes

Paul Collingwood and Kevin Pietersen entered Ashes folklore today with big hundreds as England approached a formidable first-innings total in the second Test.

The pair forged a record 310-run partnership on the second day at the Adelaide Oval, overhauling England’s record fourth-wicket Ashes partnership of 288 recorded by Nasser Hussain and Graham Thorpe at Edgbaston in 1997.
