Jolene Byrne wins women’s cross country title

Jolene Byrne has taken her first Women's title at today's National Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships.

The Dubliner, who had previously won a bronze at the World junior Championships, edged out Fionualla Britten from Wicklow.

The championships were being staged at Sligo racecourse and are acting as trials for the Europeans Championships in Tilburg, in Holland, next month.
