Athens handed World Cup

Athens, host of last year’s Olympic Games, has been awarded one of track and field’s most prestigious meetings for next year.

The International Association of Athletics Federations announced the Greek capital will stage the World Cup – the only competition on the calendar for track and field teams – on September 16-17.
