Glock strikes lucky with second Jordan chance
Timo Glock has been given a second chance to race in Formula One after Eddie Jordan dumped Giorgio Pantano.
Glock, who scored points in his only race so far in Formula One, will race in the remaining three grands prix of 2004, starting in China this weekend.
Pantano was dropped for the Canadian race in June because he ran out of funding and, with “contractual issues” blamed for his latest axe, that is likely to again be the cause.
Team boss Eddie Jordan said: “It has been a pleasure working with Giorgio this year, however contractual issues have made this unavoidable and we wish him every success in the future.
“Timo’s performance throughout this season as our third driver in testing and free practice has been first-class, particularly when he stood in and raced in Canada.”
Formula 3000 racer Robert Doornbos will fill in for Glock as Jordan’s third driver.
