Killester travel to Neptune

Dart Killester came back from a 20-point deficit earlier this week to defeat MDS Star 79-72, but face another tough challenge when they travel to Neptune this weekend.

Killester’s Keith Friel continues to struggle with a slight ankle injury, but played well against Star and will receive further treatment ahead of the Neptune clash.

Two successive defeats for Star will leave them desperate for a win when they host Gleneagle Lakers on Saturday night, while Killarney are on the back of three victories that will boost their confidence when they take on the Belfast men this weekend.

Demons will host Hibernian UCD Marian on Sunday, followed by Waterford Crystal on the 28th.

After their big victory against Neptune, it seems Demons have returned to form, but will be tested again this weekend against Marian.

Demons have a full squad, while Marian will be without Herman Heyl.

A one-point defeat to Star last weekend marked Marian’s fourth successive defeat, after a successful start to the season.

However, Kenny McFarland returned to form last weekend, top-scoring on 31-points, making the restoration of the team’s performance imminent in the coming weeks.

Since their victory over Killester, Shamrock Rovers have been unable to record a victory and remain at the bottom of the North Conference league table.

With BurgerKing Limerick’s awesome transformation in the Southern Conference, the ‘Hoops’ will have their work cut out this weekend, and again against Tralee Tigers on the 28th December.

Jamal Hunter has recovered from a slight leg injury to ensure a full Limerick squad ahead of the weekend.

Following Waterford Crystal’s struggle against Gleneagle Lakers last weekend, it is likely they will encounter similar difficulties against the height of St Vincent’s on Saturday night.

While Tony Atchison notched up 28-points for Waterford, Andy Piper and Eamon Sheehan were unable to cope with the American forces, with the option of two professional guards possibly an unworkable selection for the team.

There will be one game in the Women’s Superleague this week, with the undefeated University of Limerick on the road to Killester.

UL have defeated all six other teams in the Superleague this season, with the pressure on Killester to put an end to their reign.

Dalkey Comets booked the first spot in the Junior Women’s Cup semi-finals last weekend, defeating Tolka Rovers. This week Drimnagh Dynamos and Meteors will battle it out for a spot.

Sligo Warriors forfeited their place in the National Cup quarter-finals, with St Paul’s going through to play Drimnagh in the New Year.
