Sonia fourth in Great North Run
Sonia O’Sullivan has finished fourth in the UK’s Great North Run, in Newcastle.
Paula Radcliffe won the race, breaking two world records in the process. Her time of 65 minutes 40 seconds was the fastest half-marathon ever by four seconds, and was a full minute inside the previous recognised world best.
She also set a new world mark at 15 kilometres of 45 minutes 7 seconds.
World 10,000 metres champion Bethane Adere of Ethiopia came home second, two minutes down, with previous record-holder Susan Chepkomei third.
