BMW chief calls for F1 shake-up
BMW boss Mario Theissen has called for further talks to ensure the future success of Formula One.
World governing body, the FIA, have already revealed measures to introduce new engine restrictions next season to cut costs but Theissen believes more can be done.
Prost and Arrows have both dropped out of the sport in recent years and fears were raised earlier this season about the futures of Jordan and Minardi as Formula One's strugglers face cash shortages.
Theissen is aware of those concerns - as well as calls to make the sport more exciting following last season's Michael Schumacher procession - and believes more action needs to be taken.
Theissen, motorsport director with Williams' engine partners BMW, said: "Our first goal should be to concentrate on working out the measures that will lead to slower lap times, cost reduction or improved possibilities for overtaking manoeuvres.
"Then, as a second measure, it would be necessary to conduct investigations concerning cars and engines in order to find out how to realise these goals."
