Battling Irish lose again down under

Ireland have still to register a point at the women’s World Cup in Australia after slumping to their fifth successive defeat against Spain.

As in many of their matches, the Irish put in a valiant performance and were denied a deserved point by a winner from Spain’s Silvia Munoz nine minutes from the end.
