Schumacher toasts record win
A triumphant Michael Schumacher is celebrating his success in the Suzuka Grand Prix.
Immediately after the race, the German was on the satellite link-up to technical director Ross Brawn - who was masterminding operations from his armchair in England while nursing a back-problem - saying, ``We missed you Ross.''
He added later: “It has been an incredible year. Results talk – there is nothing else to say. Fantastic really.
“What has been outstanding is that we have finished every race on the podium, which shows the quality of the mechanics. It is an incredible job they have done.
“The Japanese fans have had two winners today – me winning and Takuma getting points in his home grand prix.
“We got a good start and could then plan the race. Once you are up front it is difficult to overtake so it was no surprise we could pull out the gap.
“Now I can look forward to a nice winter, relax and be back strong next year.”
Barrichello said: “I am happy for myself and Ferrari, being part of such a family with such a car.
“It was difficult to cope with the gap Michael had, but for me to have two wins in the last three races means its been a great season for me.”
Raikkonen, who slowed suddenly with just a few laps left, said: “We had a bit of a problem and I slowed down but everything went normal again. I was lucky with Ralf having a problem.”
