Snooker: Williams critical despite success

Mark Williams sent fellow former title-holder John Parrott back to the television studio with a 10-7 victory in the first round of the Embassy World Championship in Sheffield today.

But the Welshman, who captured the game’s most coveted crown two years ago, was scathing about his performance, saying he played ‘‘like a pig with a shotgun’’ as well as offering various other unprintable descriptions.
